The DBL Sharks are excited to announce the signing of Yorkshire born power forward Robert Marsden.
The Doncaster native big man has joined the Sheffield team from derby rivals Leeds Force following a very impressive year taking scalps such as Sheffield and Newcastle along the way. He has gained a reputation of being a hard-nosed, skilled big man that brings a strong effort to every game.
In his last season with Leeds Force he averaged 14 points per game and 8 rebounds, rendering his rebound total for the season 4th in the league
“We have had an eye on Rob for some time, we are really pleased that he is on board with us, we think he will complement existing players well and help us achieve our goals. He really fits our style of play at Sheffield and adds another consistent scorer in the paint and a strong rebounder” said Coach Lyons. “Rob is a tough player and has a strong work ethic on the floor, coupled with Tuck and Wroblicky, that will be a front court to contend with”.
The Sharks continue to build their team with a mix of old and new but the new look squad demonstrated how serious the club feels about the season ahead.
“I have had a chance to speak to Mike Tuck the last couple of years and thought we would play well off each other. I’m excited to play for my home county club especially with the pieces we already have in place” said Marsden.
You can see him in action at the BBL All Stars Championship on Sunday 24th September at The O2 London. Tickets will be available through the Sharks office from Monday 17th July.
