Sharks and Wilson Agree Departure

It is with regret that the DBL Sharks announce that forward Ryan Wilson will be departing the club with immediate effect due to personal reasons.

Despite a positive start a number of early injuries impeded his assimilation in to the squad and 6’4 forward has taken the decision to cease playing in Sheffield.

Wilson will be replaced by Sharks and Hallam University junior Jacob Cauthorn, who will make his debut against the London Lions this evening at the EISS.

“We are sorry to see Ryan go, however we understand his decision, on the back of that we are able to welcome Jacob into the team and we look forward to his development in the BBL,” said General Manager Sarah Backovic.

Jacob Cauthorn follows in the footsteps of his father Sharks legend Todd Cauthorn, who remains part of the coaching staff for the development of U18 players.

The Sharks hit the floor tonight against the London Lions – 7:30pm at the EIS – Sheffield.
