Bristol Flyers took a major step towards confirming their place in the Play-Offs after producing a late burst to see off DBL Sharks Sheffield.

The visitors would have sealed their post-season spot with victory, but conceded the final nine points of the game with both sides now at 16-13.

Turning point – In a game of runs, Bristol led by 10 at 27-17 only for the Sharks to hit back with a 14-0 burst and they opened up a 16-point lead in the third. The Flyers responded with a 15-0 run and took the lead in the fourth but would need a final 9-0 spell to take the victory.

Key stat – Sharks coughed up 20 turnovers in the contest and the Flyers scored 23 of their points from the foul line having been held to 35% shooting from the field.

Game hero(es) – Adam Weary netted a team-high 23 points and was 9 of 11 on free throws, while Jordan Davis was one assist shy of a double-double with 13 points and nine assists.
