The DBL Sharks Sheffield are happy to announce another addition to the squad in the form of 6’3” the signing of Rashawn Rembert. Sharks who currently sit in 6th position in the BBL Championship competition have been playing with out their full allocation of foreign permits as point guard Jordin Davis continues to recover from ligament tears.
Rembert played his collegiate basketball at East Tennessee State, during his time at ETSU he was known as a sharp shooter and one of the top three pointer shooters in the NCAA, ranking 18th with 3.1 makes per game and 20th at 40%.
He set the ETSU single season record with 103 3- pointers in a single season. His best year during his junior season when he averaged 16.8 points per game. Rashawn embarked on his professional career last season with a stint in Argentina. He joins the Sharks after concluding an American Touring team who played in China.
Coach Lyons said “I’m excited to have Rashawn join our team this year. We have struggled at times this season scoring the ball and he will add more shooting and another scoring presence. He is also an exceptional passer which will free up other players to find their shots as well.”
The decision to bring Rashawn in to the team was encouraged by his hometown friend Jordan Davis, whom he played alongside with in High school. Florida..
“I am thrilled to join the Sharks. My good friend Jordan Davis had great things to say about the team and the organisation” said Rashawn. “I have spoken to Coach Lyons and understand what he needs from me and I want to do whatever I can to help the club win silverware.”
